The Friends of the New Hanover County Public Library (founded in
1976) is a membership organization that provides support to the New Hanover County library.
We advocate on behalf of the library's budgetary and other monetary needs; raise funds in support of its collection,
services and facilities, through membership dues and donations; organize and staff the operation of the very successful
Used Book Sales held periodically throughout the year; promote public knowledge of the library's indispensable contribution
to the educational, economic and recreational lives of the citizens of New Hanover County.
